About Rebecca Sayre:
One of Nashville’s premier jazz vocalists… among the city’s jazz elite. An elegant stylist with a clear tone and an easy sense of swing…” ~ Nashville Scene
Rebecca will be joined by Nashville jazz all-stars Charlie Chadwick on Bass, Chris Walters on Keys, Andy Reiss on Guitar.
Sung in captivating melodic fashion, lyrically honest and vocally pure, Rebecca touches her audiences with songs about innocence, real love and romance. Original compositions shine and swing alongside gems from the Great American Jazz Songbook originally delivered by her greatest influences: Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, Frank Sinatra, Anita O’Day, and others.
Rebecca Sayre’s career as a musician began to take off when she started singing in Nashville’s acclaimed original swing band, BadaBing BadaBoom. Later, her solo jazz standards debut, This is Always, reached the TOP 50 in the National JazzWeek Album charts and earned praise from radio and critics such as “Sayre’s phrasing is utmost perfection, interpreting those great standards written in the first part of the 20th century… her style is so reminiscent of that brief era, Mid-Western hipness! … A soothing voice and the makings of a chanteuse.”
For her second release, Sayre picked up the guitar for the first time in several years and began writing with Eddie Mugavero, BadaBing’s prolific songwriter. The partnership blossomed into her award-winning songwriting debut, New Girl, which blends together elements of jazz, blues and folk. Performing Songwriter Magazine called “every song a standout” and Rebecca was praised as “…a stunning new talent.” The title cut was featured in a season premier of Fox TV’s, So You Think You Can Dance. Songs from New Girl have since been added to online music sights such as Pandora Radio and Women of Substance Online Radio, among others.
In 2012, Sayre released the EP Play, which includes four lush tracks that subtly invite her distinct jazz stylings, and create a warm blend R & B and Jazz/Folk. Rebecca continues to hone her songwriting craft while performing regularly for jazz-loving audiences.
