About Green Hills

Green Hills is part of the Nashville Metropolitan area and has become one of the most affluent areas of Nashville. Green Hills is located just south of downtown Nashville. The boundaries of Green Hills have been disputed, so the exact population is unknown. The U.S. Postal Service Zip Code 37215 is the defining mark of a Green Hills resident. Green Hills was developed in the 1930s, but it didn?t start to grow until the late 1940s. Green Hills is the home of Harpeth Hall Academy, the prestigious girls high school that Reese Witherspoon and other well known Nashville residents have attended. The Mall at Green Hills has become the premier mall in Nashville and it will be the future home of Nordstrom?s Department Store, as well as other fine specialty shops. David Lipscomb University, a thriving church related higher education institution, is located in the center of Green Hills.

Hillsboro Road is the main road that divides Green Hills into two sections. The east section and the west section are now filled with exclusive homes and condominiums and all of the shops are between those two residential areas. The advantage of living in Green Hills centers around convenience. Downtown Nashville is a fifteen minute drive north and the historic city of Franklin is a twenty minute drive to the south. Green Hills is surrounded by farm land to the south and Belle Meade to the west, which is the another exclusive area of Nashville. East of Green Hills is Berry Hill, which is the location of Nashville first enclosed mall, 100 Oaks Shopping Center.
