Event Details

Friends are forged on the dark road headed out of town.

And so we head there again, sojourning across the continent in the name of psychic sanity and spiritual resolve in these most troubled and troubling of times.

These are nights in which love letters to life are written and read aloud. There’s some boldness in them. They have that tone. These nights have the mark of our time upon them, and they’re timely, urgent, alert, steeped in mortal mystery. They’re quixotic. They have swagger. What would you call such a thing? We call them Nights of Grief & Mystery. https://orphanwisdom.com/nights-of-grief-and-mystery/

Part poetry, part lamentation, part book reading, part ribaldry, part concert, part lifting the mortal veil and learning the mysteries there...that’s what’s in store. Watch the trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5YLWZYlVr6E&t=37s

The doors are pried at night’s end, and still many linger and can’t leave or won’t, and there is something like victory in the air, and a weary, luminous midnight rumour that, people heretofore unknown to each other, can still join for the sake of the young among them and for the world entrusted to them, and that the Mercies count us kin, and that wonder is the currency of the Gods.

The Seattle show was so fantastic! ~ DG, Seattle

Nights of Grief & Mystery testifies to a storyteller’s, a singer’s, and a kick-ass band’s willingness to wonder how our corner of the world has come to be as it is, and how we might best serve its needs. One side effect? This bravura performance magically elicits a similar willingness in ourselves, perhaps unexpectedly so, making us somehow prone to one of Stephen Jenkinson’s road-tested observations: “Grief is a w
