Description
Carnton’s Behind the Scenes Tour will allow visitors to experience areas of the house not open on the Classic House Tour.
Event Details
The tour will begin with main areas of the house, before exploring the basement, third floor and back balcony.
By seeing rooms never before accessed by the public, guests will be able to further understand the history of the McGavock family, who were directly impacted by the Battle of Franklin and saw their home used as a field hospital for Confederate wounded.
The Behind the Scenes Tour lasts approximately 90 minutes.
This tour is not recommended for children under the age of ten or those with limited mobility. However, if you choose to bring your child (or children) a ticket must be purchased regardless of age.
Contact Bill Clark at 615-794-0903 or at bill@boft.org for questions.
